Open the shell and lift off the old mold shell half which only served as a form on mold-halfopenSFW.jpg (8998 bytes)  which to make the new shell.

Lay the old mold shell half aside. You will need it to make the mold shells for the rest of your rubber molds in the same way you did this one.

Trim the edges of the shell with your mold knife. The arrow indicates the plastiline that I  used to fill the spaces when the model was in  the other half of the mold. Sand the surface of the plaster if there are imperfections and generally refine the finish by filling in holes and patching any defects.

shellacnewshellSFW.jpg (11332 bytes)Apply shellac to the new shell, put plastiline in any slight undercuts that you may have on the rubber mold or backup shell. Then soap up the mold and shell. Be very sure that you have gotten all the undercuts filled.
